Ufuk Arslan Anadolu Lisesi (Etimesgut, Turkey)

Ufuk Arslan Anadolu Lisesi is a state school in Eryamanu. It was built and started work in 2007 as a general secondary school. Preparation of students for enrollment at faculties. Most of them successfully enrolled in a university after graduation. By 2018-2019. 1100 students attend the school, but quotas have been changed and now the number of students has increased to 1750. There are about 105 teachers in the school. The school has 2 laboratories, 2 art classrooms, 2 music rooms and one sports hall. There are difficulties and disadvantages in school due to overcrowded classrooms.

The school is in Ankara, the capital, in central Anatolia, which means it is rich in history, culture, art, education, etc. Students come from lower middle class families with low income / income.

Students from suburban settlements experience school adaptation problems (internal migration): most parents want to live traditionally, and teenagers are difficult to understand the real world. We want to expand the cultural and European dimensions of student education and training and improve language skills, communication and the use of new technologies. It is also important for students to be able to contribute not only as individuals but also as people who are trying to make the world a better place. They are therefore interested in environmental education, education development, healthy lifestyle, education for sustainable development, raising global awareness, youth involvement, social responsibility. In this process, I can use smart boards in each classroom in our school, a drama featuring improvisations and role playing, video conferencing, blogs, research techniques, onsite visits.

The purpose of the school is to enable students and students to exchange experiences within Europe and to continue to spread their perspectives. The desire is to encourage and nurture the European strategy in high school to enable students to deal with the challenges of the future (demography, migration, employment) to transform our shortcomings (small size, distance) into the advantage. Erasmus+ projects enable the promotion of Europe and its values in school and contribute to the development of long-term exchanges with European countries, and give students better prospects for employment.

A teacher of history (Mehmet Munir Uslu) and an English teacher (Gamze Arslanyiğit) will be conducting this project.
